TDSSKiller is a free Kaspersky rootkit tool that can be used to detect rootkits and remove them from your computer. Rootkits have the ability to hide potentially unwanted applications from your computer’s antivirus application. Rootkits remain invisible by modifying the API on your computer. Some of the known rootkits include Rootkit.Win32.TDSS, Rootkit.Boot.Turn.a, Rootkit.Boot.Batan.a, etc.
Step 1:Download the TDSSKiller application from the manufacturer’s site.
Step 2:Extract the TDSSKiller.exe file from the archived package by using tools such as Winzip or Winrar.
Step 3:Run the TDSS application on your computer.
Step 4:Accept the TDSS license agreement.
Step 5:Click the ‘change parameters’ option.
Step 6:Select the objects to scan, such as services and drivers, and boot sectors.
Step 7:Set the additional Kaspersky TDSS options, such as ‘Verify driver digital signatures’ and ‘Detect TDLFS file system.
