Step 1:The Trend micro is one of the oldest scan engines for Microsoft exchange.

Step 3: Off late, Microsoft has been facing errors with the Trend micro virus scan updates.
Step 4:The last status update will show updating but will not change over time because the dates of the record are seen out of date or expired.
Step 5:You can also perform the update manually to avoid the error, but again the message would read “Error: Unable to update the pattern file. Another process uses it. Please wait and try again.”
Step 6:There is only one solution to fix the error.
Step 7:Open the file directory /var/iwss and delete either one or all the files temporarily to check if the error is fixed.
