How to Configure Smtp Server for Gmail?


The outgoing server (SMTP) is important for email delivery. Here we are Configure Smtp Server for Gmail settings for a Gmail account.



It is an easy way to configure SMTP server for Gmail account can use it with personal emails. The settings are identical for any email provider you use with Gmail.

Outgoing mail server name - smtp.gmail.com
Authentication required - yes
Authentication protocol - either SSL or TLS
Port - 587 (SSL required) or 465 (TLS required)Username - yourname@gmail.com
Password - Gmail account’s password
Use any one of the procedures given below to configure Smtp Server for Gmail account.
Before configuring the Gmail account on any one of the email clients, make sure to enable the incoming server access.

Configuring the Gmail account on the Outlook 2016 application

Step 1: First, launch the main window of the Outlook 2016 application.
Step 2: Find the File tab at the top-left corner of the screen and click it to open the Account Information window.
Step 3:  Once you select the Account Settings option from the Account Settings drop-down menu, click the New button.
Step 4: This will open the Auto Account Setup window.
Step 5: To manually configure the Gmail account on the Outlook 2016 application, select the ‘Manual setup or additional server types’ option and then click the Next button.
